Who is David Ricketts?
I have a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Manitoba, worked several years as a child and family psychologist in a community mental health clinic in Calgary Alberta, and was employed 10 years as a senior child and family psychologist in the Mental Health Program at Alberta Children’s Hospital.
In 1996 I moved into full-time private practice and for the next 15 years provided individual and family therapy and developed and ran group treatment programs for children and families. These unique group programs focused on teaching anger management and social communication skills to over 1,000 youth and their families.
After retiring from active clinical practice several years ago, I embarked on a “retirement project” to develop “Life Skills 4 My Family”. I hope families can complete these workshops from the comfort of their own home, and that both parents and children will continue to learn and benefit from these important life skills.
